Google Earth problem

Options
Google Earth has stopped working on my PC. It’s been in use on a fairly regular basis for several years and I’ve tried everything I can think of to get it working again without any success, so I decided to uninstall and then reinstall it (several times) but after each successful install it continues to fail to open. That applies to Google Earth Pro also.
Are there any of you guys who have helped me before able to offer a solution please?

Sorry, not sure this will be much help to you, I hadn't used mine (Pro version) for a while but I've just started it up and it seems fine.

I haven't been able to get Google Earth for some years. I un-installed and tried to reinstall without success. My son who is a bit of a computer whizz was also unable to install it. very annoying.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I'm wondering if there is a problem with Google.
Every time I tried to launch it after reinstalling I got "Error 1603 Fatal flaw" or "Directx" Messages, which is confusing because everything was working OK a few weeks ago. After following the recommended link to these error messages the only thing that is recommended is to uninstall and reinstall, but as I've already said, that doesn't work either.

I've already followed this link and many others and in doing so I've found lots of people who are experiencing similar problems with GE.

After thinking over my decision to give up trying to recover Google Earth, I thought I’d give it one last try.
    I searched the internet and finally found; ‘https://www.googleearth - win - bundle – 6.2.2.6613(1).exe’.
Low and behold, it worked, and I now have some semblance of Google Earth that I can use. It’s a bit slow to load and I have lost all the places I had marked up but I’m gradually putting them all back. I won’t be trying to update this one though, as that’s what caused the problem in the first place. For some reason the latest version of GE doesn’t like my computer.
So if there’s anyone else out there who have experienced similar problems feel free to give this download a try.

I'm of the impression Google is looking to abandon stand alone GE at some point and get everyone using Google Maps instead.

If that was the old google maps then great ditch earth. The new one is still rubbish.

I had to contact them and ask where Nottingham had gone...They found it again afterwards.
