I have an HTC smartphone from which the screen keyboard has gone missing. Given that the keyboard is simply a function of the processor, could someone explain what has gone wrong to create such a problem ?

Go to Settings > Language & Input.
Depending on the version of Android you have you should see a list of input methods, plus an option to choose the default keyboard.
Is your keyboard listed? If so, is it ticked to show it's availalbe? If so is it showing as the default?0 -
Thanks, Cookie.
Problem fixed although we are not entirely sure why. Suspect it was the keyboard not showing as default following some earlier problem.0
