Fitting new electric fan in kitchen

Hello All,
I am looking to have an electric fan fitted in my kitchen (either connected directly to the light switch or on its own switch).
Before I ask for quotes, could anybody give me an idea of the kind of costs I would be looking at ? (includes supply, drilling hole in exterior wall, connecting to electric etc.).
Also, would this have to be fitted by a qualified electrician and be provided with a certificate or anything ?
Many thanks for any help or pointers.

The work is not notifiable to building control under part P so you will not need a building control certificate but it should be fitted by a competent person who will wire it up correctly to comply with the latest electrical regs who should issue with an electrical installation/minor works certificate. So in other words yes, get a professional electrician but they don't need to be part of a Part P notification scheme for this work.
I think £150-200 including supply of a decent fan would be a reasonable price but there are some variable factors such as how much disruption there is to find a suitable point to wire up the extractor to the lighting circuit if that's what you'd prefer, and how much making good is required.0 -
Get quotes then ask anything else is going to be a waste of time and estimated price without full details isn't going to help you one bit ? e,g fan ground floor installation not comparable to fifth floor etc0
