The Lakeland Cube as recommended in post #4 is my box of choice. DD had one two years ago - we loved it, so last year I got one for her brother too. I find I can put in a sandwich in the larger of the two small compartment - without needing to use clingfilm, the other compartment holds dried fruit, cut fruit, cake etc, and the other side I use for the cutlery (if needed) plus yogurt (in another small tub as its home made). Also use this side if I'm doing pasta salad etc, as long as there is no dressing (or its thick!) I find it does not leak out. If I want to send in a dressing, I do so in another pot - the children think they are very grown up to be adding their own!
Also have the 'Thermos Snak Jars' - great for soups in winter.

Can I ask how old your DD is? I'm a bit worried about buying something I can't try out first in case it's too difficult for my 4 year old to open.0

I really want a lunchcube from Lakeland but don't have one near me and so would have to order online but the postage is £3.95  Now this is really not moneysaving so I'll have to wait till I can get to a Matalans and see if they have them in stock instead.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

My DD had one of these to take to preschool. She was only just 3 and she managed ok although I'm not sure how much help she had from staff. It's quite a chunky hinge so it's pretty easy for them to get their little hands round it without being too fiddly.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
I was in Woolworths at the weekend and they had a similar thing to the Cube as a lunch box - in addition the middle divider (between the top and bottom IYSWIM) was a freezer pack for keeping everything cool. Can't remember the exact price but it was under £5.0
