Right, as a few of you know I want to run a twin monitor set-up and am after some recommendations for a desktop please. Requirements are the following:
able to run 2 monitors (I'm guessing HDMI, or displayport?)
Core i5 or faster
4GB RAM or more
to be physically smaller if possible
3 or 4 USB ports
Windows OS
Can anyone recommend a range/model that will suit me needs please?

I've two dell 24inch monitors that are connected to a Nvidia GTX 750 ti 2gb graphics card (best card for price) note the two HDMI ports and two DVI ports. So this can actually drive four monitors.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Thanks FB, so a better graphics card is needed to run more monitors. How do you find a desktop with 2 hdmi and 2 DVI ports? ive been lucky to find anything with 1 of each?0

You add a graphics card.

Personally I would use a discrete graphics card to run two monitors however you can run them off a integrated solution if the PC has both HDMI and DVI or Display port. Forget VGA, the picture is never as good as a digital output.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Ah right so adding a graphics card also adds additional ports for HDMI or DVI? (told you I was stupid when it comes to computers)0

It also adds considerably more graphics processing power (choosing the right card) than that found with integrated solutions.
They also have dedicated RAM of their own so you are not sharing RAM resources with the rest of the system.
And yes it can give you graphics extra ports.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
And would that card you specified fit in most desktop units? even a smaller one? (think its SFF?)0

Depends you might have to get a low profile version, it depends on case hight and room. If you mean brick size then no.
for example:
