Hi,

I'm a Costco member and thinking about getting this credit card for the cashback.
Is it worth it over the Platinum Cashback Everyday or the Platinum Cashback?

I already have a Preferred Rewards Gold Charge Card that I'm looking to replace with one of the above 3 credit cards. I have a Halifax Clarity for overseas purchases and a standard NatWest credit card that gives me no benefits

Thanks

  • What benefits does it have?
  • Thanks for the quick reply. I can't post links yet to the full page.

    Theses are the main benefits:

Pays 3% cashback rewards on virtually all your restaurant dining (no maximum)
Pays 2% cashback rewards on nearly all your travel bookings (no maximum)
Pays 1% cashback rewards at Costco and almost everywhere else (maximum £300 cashback rewards in 12 months)

    Thanks

I spent £5k on it this year and got a £70 voucher
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Great! So that worked out as 1.4% for you? Better than the 1.25% from either of the Platinum cards.

Just be aware that Costco have dumped Amex with the US version of this card...
May not happen here but something to be aware of.

I've never been attracted to Costco for my shopping, but looking at this card now, the 2% on travel is very attractive as I spend tens of thousands a year on travel as work expenses, and 2% is far better than what I currently get.

Is there anything to stop me paying £30 a year to be a member of Costco so that I can get the card, but never actually shopping there. Is the cashback actually cash, or Costco vouchers?
