Delivery mess!

I ordered some trainers from my boyfriend from Tifoshop (don't ask - couldn't find them in his size in UK). They looked pretty reliable and had a good rating on trust pilot. I received my order in about 5 days, to my horror it was someone else's, with their invoice inside, from France!
The company immediately offered to arrange a FedEx courier to swap our deliveries round which would take another 5 days. Not ideal but I was happy that it was dealt with swiftly.
Waiting for FedEx to deliver today and get a message saying they've been delivered. This Italian company had got a number in my postcode wrong and FedEx had delivered to a random address where someone had signed for. I called the courier and they're going to track them but it's really unacceptable from both parties! Surely FedEx have a system to check the address corresponds with the postcode? I did a google search and the area for the incorrect postcode doesn't have my door number or anywhere near!
My question is - what can I do?! I may receive the shoes later today, but still, I feel like I've been so unlucky and it's not acceptable.

I take it the wrong number is in the latter part of the postal code?
It's not FedEx's job to correct the address - they go off the street address and local courier knowledge as the postal code is only used to get it to the right depot to deliver (its the same with every courier).
A google search is not a foolproof method of checking address numbers either. (Can you imagine if a courier did that before going out to deliver?)
If FedEx gets them back to you then you should be happy - as it is its the shippers responsibility until they do get them to you so complain to them.0
