Selling car - keep getting asked about what price...

Hello all. I am selling my car on a 7-day auction, which started Sunday. The minimum price I want and believe should at least be achieved, is £600.
I decided early on that I would not have a reserve price. Then, after deliberating some time, I would do a BIN. My main reason was that having looked at what similar cars have gone for over the past few months, I should expect £500 minimum, up to £1000, which is quite a reasonable swing.
I have already had several questions, yet all are probing for what I want/would accept for it, and the last one even asked if I have a buy now price for the car, even though the advert clearly says not!
So I ask, are these users just:
* playing
* trying to get info. off me that clearly I didn't want to put in
* hoping to get the car for a knockdown price and sell before end
* taking a chance that I'm naive and may sell for silly price
I've been very polite so far, but the one who just asked have a BIN, I really want to reply with "Yes, can't you see it? It's written in white ink".
I dare say this happens virtually every sale, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify you have set an auction up and not a classified ad? Most sellers would be looking for a sale privately, so I suspect a lot of buyers are used to being able to negotiate a cash sale with seller and that is probably what they are asking.
If you are new to ebay have you fully protected yourself with this sale, cars are not always easy to sell on ebay as you have issues with a buyer turning up and not liking the condition and then refusing to pay. You have set your start price at the lowest you will accept, and removed paypal as an option I hope?

Sorry, yes, it's an auction set at 99p. I see what you are saying. I'm not new to Ebay, and in fact I actually have sold a car on there before. But that was sometime ago and I don't recall these questions.
It's more what they are trying to get out of me. Also, I feel like replying with asking what they are prepared to offer. I don't see turning the tables any different.0 -

Maybe they are asking questions because your listing is as confusing as your post

You realise that you may not get what you hoped for? If you start it at 99p it could sell for that price. There is no guarantee you'll get anything near £500/600, especially if you're getting a lot of questions from people wanting more detail.

* trying to get info. off me that clearly I didn't want to put in

*Maybe it's info they feel they need. What info do they want that you're unwilling to give?
*Again, always those who want a bargain.
*You started at 99p. Looks like you just want rid and, yet again people like a bargain, so they're taking a chance and trying to get it cheap. You get a quick sale they get a good price.
Plus if you are missing some key details they may be offering low because something they feel is important hasn't been mentioned and the low price reflects the chance they feel they're taking in buying a car without being aware of that detail.0 -

I am still a little confused- but that's probably normal for me. I'm still not sure why you are upset at people asking for a price especially if you can negotiate a cash sale quickly.
If you have started at 99p and it is ending this side of Christmas when money is probably being spent elsewhere then you do realise it can sell at 99p, are you happy with that?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So are you prepared to sell at 99p if you don't have a reserve?
I think people's questions are quite normal, so not sure what the issue is. I am looking for a new car at the moment, and have a set budget, so would find a 99p auction irritating. If it is priced that low I would be curious to see if the seller was just wanting £100 for it, but I would rather just have a traditional advert, go see a car, then negotiate around the listed pride.
Isn't there something called ebay motors nowadays?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
As above if you think its worth at least £600 you should have started it at £600 or £500 at the very least.
There is a risk that it will sell for pennies. Pull the auction and relist it or change to a classified advert.
Hoping to get a knockdown price and resell? Overthinking here i think.. I have bought cars off ebay auctions and bought them before the listing ended because i paid the price the seller wanted and they had cash in their hand with no risk of timewasters.
You car could have been sold and gone if you told them the minimum you will accept.
What are the buyers asking for that you dont want them to know?
Would you rather they waste your time and cost you money by not buying if because of something they asked and you didnt tell them?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
