Sainsbury dvd

Hi.
I am wanting to unlock a sainsbury brand dvd player model 585 150 (sku:7440223) to play region 1 dvd's. There is no manufacturer named, just "made in china for sainsburys". Any ideas?

Appears to be a rebranded Curtis DVD 1053.

To make this region free is as follows:

Power up the unit with no disk in the tray.
Open the try.
Press the number 9 five times quickly on the remote.
You should see a number zero or nine on a blue screen for a couple of seconds then vanish.
Close the tray.

You'll not get far with just that information. If you turn it on, are there menus you can go into to find model numbers, serial numbers etc?

I was told that all DVD Players after 2006 will play all discs?

My current one is region free and stated so when I bought on Amazon.

The one before was a Curry's own brand and was really easy to unlock. Sorry I cannot remember the full details but there was a code I had to input which I found online.

Used it on my Sainsburys red 585-158. (reported to work on 585-150 and 585-160)

1. Switch on power.
2. Press 'Setup'.
3. Press '9' 4 times. (this should now show the region at the top of the screen).
4. Scroll using the arrow key until you find '255' displayed (region can be set to 1,2,3,4,5,6 but 255 is Region Free).
5. Press 'Setup' to exit.
6. Power off.
7. Power On.
8. Try a DVD.

Power cycling (steps 6 and 7) might not be necessary but won't hurt.
