I think this is the standard - as this is exactly how it happened in my case - On the day of application £430 was taken by Halifax for the valuation and had a hard search done. Valuation happened a week later (last Monday) and now I am waiting for my broker to let me know what next and if I was approved etc...0

Yes the hard search was done just after the full application went in.
Spoke to the broker today, valuation and survey is happening on Monday0
