Leeds BS - how to pay in cheques

Hi MSE-ers, sorry for the daft question...
I've recently opened a regular saver with Leeds Building Society. I want to pay in my next month's deposit (via post) - do I have to send the passbook in with the cheque and paying-in slip? I haven't had a passbook for about 15 years! I've looked on the Leeds BS website but I couldn't find the info - I guess it's one of those things everyone already knows!?

Thanks

You can pay in to the Leeds BS regular saver by standing order or faster payment from any bank account.

Use the sort code and 8 digit account number from the inside front cover of your passbook, and give your Leeds account number as a reference.

Your passbook will be updated next time you visit a branch.

    Thanks

Send a cheque with either a covering letter, paying in slip or Passbook to either Local Branch or Head Office.

Send the cheque, paying in slip and passbook into the prepaid envelope and they will return the passbook within a week.

I have done this for the last eight months.
