Selling on Ebay and Amazon and posting

I sell on eBay and amazon and last month we sold about 2k items across both with 1 item which was claimed to have been 'lost' not received. I do not track my items as they are low value.
This month we have sold about 1.5k this month and I am up to 12 lost or not recieved- but 11 are from Amazon - despite selling more on eBay.
Is this normal that this amount go missing - is it not odd that nearly all are on Amazon?
Or is this christmas?
We were new to selling as a business as we started our business in august so I have never done a christmas before.

It seems particularly bad this year, I am a tiny seller and rarely ever have losses, but I'm on my third in the past month which I've never had before.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. We've sent about 5000 in the last month, I've not had any losses and usually don't. We don't send tracked either. They're mostly under £10.
I'd wonder how you were sending, if parcels/envelopes can get damaged. How you are addressing envelopes, ie printed or handwritten? Are you adding return addresses? Are they all UK or are some overseas? Are you sending slower than you have listed?.0 -

I've changed absolutely nothing and yet my losses in the past 4 weeks are more than I have had for the whole year.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Our mail is franked here and we print invoices with a peel label if that makes sense. I am currently a top rated seller but I am really starting to worry as its affected my postage times so people have said their items are late despite me sending out within 24 hours of their order.
They may have left me positive but have hit my stars. One 1st class large letter took 1 whole week from me posting to them getting it - a few buyers who buy from me often have informed me how long things are taking and I have no reason to disbelieve.
My friend thinks I should do fulfilment with Amazon so the responsibility is there - but it looks very very expensive for low value items.
All my items are large letters.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Another thought is where they are posted. I tend to drop off at regional depots so they're not being handled too much. Our mail is franked here and we print invoices with a peel label if that makes sense. Oddly enough I use FBA (fulfilment by Amazon) and they have had more losses than me posting myself..0 -
I drop at the local depot so can't really do much better than that.
If an item at Amazon Fulfils goes missing what happens?3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
