I've had two pairs of sketchers shoes with memory foam and found that the memory foam does not last well at all. I found that it started to completely break up under my big toes within a couple of months.

I very much agree with trying out lots of pairs to find what suits you but many decent brands can be found at cheaper shops once you know what you want.

Brantano often stock Sketchers if you decide to go for them it might be worth a look. I find I have to go down half a size in sketchers too.

I stumbled across sorbothane insoles a few years ago.
They are not cheap but in my opinion, a fantastic upgrade to most footwear.
I recently bought some new hiking shoes and the comfort of my existing shoes is still miles ahead of the new shoes with their crappy thin standard insoles.

I would advise trying a pair in your current work shoes before shelling out on new ones (I use the double strike model). I have found them to be cheapest on ebay.
