Hello
I'm surprising my boyfriend with a three nights in London as a special treat. We're staying very central; just off Tottenham Court Road. I'm after any advice and tips you might have on how to have a good time without breaking the bank because I'll be footing the bill!
I imagine Wetherspoons/Lloyds no 1 will be among the cheaper places to eat & drink but apart from that I'm pretty clueless! Maybe someone knows of some discount vouchers I can print from websites? I've found a 2 for 1 meal at Waxy O Conners just off Leicester Sq so I'll take that along.
I thought someone who lives/works in London might have some good ideas for cheap & cheerful days & nights out so any help is gratefully received. Thanks!

The Chandos pub, just off Trafalgar Square is good, it's a Sam Smith's pub so a decent range of beer, and cheap for a central pub.
For food, you are handy for china town, where you can usually get a good deal on a banquet if you shop around a bit. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
Mmm, if you're going to London don't give Wetherspoons your dosh!
Wong Kei's is a London institution (unfortunately staff are no longer as rude as they used to be!) - but great food, and dirt cheap. And close to where you are.

Most museums and galleries are free. theres usually some sort of street party or festival going on somewhere in town most weekends for something or other, and they are certainly worth a nose.
latenightlondon venues have happy hours, im not sure if they are all midweek tho.

I havent been to this one, and it will be close to your hotel if you are around TCR, its usally quite packed and seems to have great prices and a really varied menu. http://www.london-eating.co.uk/3600.htm:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
likewise, I should have said , on square meal and also london easting there are deals like 14.99 for 2 courses ,etc, not as cheap as bistro 1, but not bad at all for london! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
