This statement seems to imply that your definition of investment is investment in the FTSE 100. That's a very small part of the balanced portfolio a smart investor would have, and very high risk on its own.
I never mentioned the FTSE 100,as the only vehicle.
The are other markets, vehicles.etc

I don't disagree opening Isas isn't easy,it's a doddle, BUT, trying to consolidate them, and not having umpteen of them can be rather awkward, whilst trying to maintain the best rates possible.
Or, if the best payer is fixed term with timing difficulties for getting all transfers in quick enough, consolidate into any easy access ISA, and transfer that to the best one - or two if you've over £75k.Eco Miser

What's difficult about consolidating? Find the best paying account that will accept transfers in, open it with a transfer, then transfer all the others to it.
Or, if the best payer is fixed term with timing difficulties for getting all transfers in quick enough, consolidate into any easy access ISA, and transfer that to the best one - or two if you've over £75k.
My OP, was answered, opening an Isa with transfer only?
Yes, if Isa provider allows it.
