This is a vent and warning.
Ordered over 800 quids worth of bathroom on 19th October (cc charged that day ) 10 working day delivery promised, despite many calls emails etc, nothing by 20th Nov. Stupidly I accepted a 're order' nothing by 4th Dec:mad:, asked for refund, they said they would but it took 14 days which I found unacceptable. As nothing so far, ( 14th Dec) phoned my CC co.. (Tesco) they listened to the tale of woe and say they've done a 'chargeback' as they said it was unacceptable service. Has anyone got compensation out of them for put off plasterers, tilers etc?

Whether you find it acceptable or not, the law allows a seller 14 days to provide a refund.
Why oh why did you book trades before having the goods in your possession? It is nobody's fault but yours that you had to pay people to do nothing.0 -
(as they were ok 2 years ago) :doh:0

There was a long thread about them on here from years ago.
If I remember correctly, there were a load of people who had problems with them and I decided that if ever I needed my bathroom doing, I wouldn't use them.
ETA, I've recently seen an advert for a company called Victorian Plumbing and wondered if it was Victoria Plumb under a new name.0 -

That's a shame that you booked trades before having the goods in your possession.
Generally people wait until the goods have arrived before making firm plans with transpeople for this very reason.
Unfortunately, as you didn't do what is generally accepted as the norm I don't think you'll be able to sue them for compensation.
And on that basis, I would agree with him.
Obviously there's nothing wrong with you asking them for a goodwill payment given that you've lost money due to their mistakes. The way to do this is to be nice and present yourself as a potentially good future customer who they have upset. You need to do it this way rather than going all guns blazing, making demands for compensation as it doesn't sound like, legally, they owe you anything.0 -
Victoria Plum........makes nice jam !!0
