Item not delivered, refund rights

I made an order with Currys/PC World. DPD were delivering it on Friday, but I wasn't in my office at the time it was marked online as delivered. The receptionist hadn't gone to lunch and doesn't recall DPD turning up at all. No one in the office claims to have signed for it.

So, assuming I don't work with anyone horrid enough to steal a delivery, who should I be getting my refund from? DPD say it should be Currys. And Currys haven't responded to any online contact since Friday (I'll keep waiting, just a bit impatient as it wasn't a small purchase).

    Your contract is with Currys.

    What does the tracking say?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Delivered and signed for by "James". We don't have anyone called James at my company.
  • Does the tracking give an exact time that they state the delivery was made? and if it does, does your company by any chance have cctv coverage of their entrance or reception area?

If there is cctv and it gets recorded, it might be worth speaking the relevant department to see if they can make sure that the record for the approximate time doesn't get deleted.

Delivered to a nearby wrong address-'James' would sign for it without necessarily checking the address?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • It's a small office building with no CCTV. Which is a shame. Helpfully Currys just got back to me saying "It's be marked as dispatched and will be with you in 3 - 5 working days". So they totally ignored my email stating it had been "delivered". The battle continues.

Yeah I went to the other office buildings and asked their receptionists that same day. No joy.

I usually find DPD to be one of the better couriers, with online tracking and text updates. Did you not receive a text to say when the driver was delivering?
