Guys, i purchased a casio projector online and the seller described it as little used, he said it had been used for approximatly 100 hours in total, i assumed from his description it was in good condition I paid £500 and he shipped me the projector but i noticed in the menu it had been used for 3000 hours so was coming to…

It seems that the OP did everything that you warned against doing to ensure you have buyer protection - purchased off e-bay and paid through Paypal gift payment. If you have the proof then LBA is the only way to go.
