Natwest Credit Card

Hi guys, just wanted some advice.

Im a current Natwest CC holder and I'm charged payment protection currently at about £4 per month. I've never looked to a PPI refund till now. I know I never asked for it as I got it and I've had the credit card about 15 years.

My question is has anyone had a similar time frame to me and what sort of offer did you get or should I expect?

Is it a case of £4 per month x 15 years with a little bit of interest?

Thanks in advance.

Way to early to be thinking that. You have to succeed in your complaint and based solely on what you have said so far, you do not have a compelling complaint reason.

Focus on the reason you want to complain and wait to see if that is successful.

  • I had PPI on a Barclaycard, but it wasn't a fixed fee per month, it was a % of my balance.
I claimed a refund & they paid me. The reasons I gave were
    1. I hadn't asked for the protection.
    2. My job pays me when I'm ill, if I got made redundant a payout would easily pay the card off as the balances were low, never over £2k.
    3. All my other borrowing, eg loans/ mortgages I had never had PPI, why would I with this.
They refunded the premiums £400, interest I paid £2400! Interest on that amount @8% to me, another £800, total £3600.

This in itself is certainly one reason worth citing when you complain.

OP - ignore dunstonh - who seems to relish in posting on almost every thread here telling people they have no potential claim.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

Can you point out where he said the op has no claim? I can't find it.

Usually he/she is often terse too to OPs for no reason.

dunstonh is right though, in itself it's not a very compelling complaint reason particularly when the OP seems to have been aware of the charge every month for the last 15 years

A customer not having asked for PPI is the first reason in a plurality of complaints.

The OP certainly didn't say that either.

I quite agree. I suggest they stop being rude to OPs; but, more importantly stop telling them they have no potential claim.

    I agree

The bank response will rightly be:

Please provide proof that you didn't ask for this

(He who asserts must prove - aka why we don't do arguments such as "you owe me £10, prove you don't")

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
