Why do they do it

Most of us have gotten spammed at some point even receiving crappy adverts in our emails and received viruses in our pcs, I am currently getting emails from myself of which I have not sent.

Most of us are just ordinary working folk who are not millionaires so its not like they will make millions by doing this to ordinary people.

So Why do they do this?

They're not expecting to make millions from one person, their intention is to spam millions in the hope that they make a few pounds/dollars/euros out of a small percentage of those people, adding up to enough to make it worth doing.

Why is it that scum burgle ordinary working folks houses?......Because they are scum.....What other reason could they possibly need?...

It's a bit like any form of adverstising for some special offer which is usually end of range, not special, and not particular cheap.

Its done....cos it works in numbers to make it a 'viable business'
You pump out umpteen millions of these phishing messages and you only need a very small percentage of receivers to fall for it to make it worthwhile.

Scammers and spammers work because there is a small percentage that keep falling for their tactics, the classic being is "You have won a prize now click here to claim it". It's the same with hawkers, if nobody ever bought from door to door salespeople or unsolicited phone callers they would dissapear overnight.

Think of it like this ..

I can send out 1,000,000 emails for $100 (£66)

If just 1% of those people read the email ,
And just 1% of those 1% actually act on the contents , then I have 100 "Marks" to fleece ..

Even if I only fleece each of those for say £10 each - That is a £1000 return back on my £66

In reality - the percentages are roughly correct for the number of "hits" - But each one is likely to get stung for a lot more than a tenner ..
