Invest 35k for 3 months - HELP

Hi, hope someone can help please.
I have a mortgage endowment maturing January but due to a house move my new mortgage ends 3 months later in April - where is best to invest my money short term with no risk, or is it even worth it?
I have a Santander 123 acccount so intend to put up to 20k in that.
What's best to do with other 15k - i'm thinking an instant cash ISA / savings account without any paying in/out requirements as it's not worth the hassle for such a short period of time.
I will need to withdraw it quickly at end of April to pay Mortgage off - so is it worth bothering about?
Any help appreciated, thank you in advance.

Only you can decide, you can get £45 after tax with Tesco and it's easy to open or you could open 5 current accounts for an extra £70. For 3 months I'd go for the easy option but that's just me

Since you have the Santander account, you could put all £35k there with no risk, and no interest over £20k.
There's no little point in using an ISA, and a savings account might earn about £60 interest before tax (so the ISA might be worth £12 extra).

Could you not overpay the mortgage?

  • Thanks for reply, already pay the max allowed without penalty on mortgage due to the beautiful endowment saga :)

3x Bank of Scotland Vantage 3% on £5k/ea (you can open 3 accounts in your name) - £15k
    2x Tesco bank 3% on £3k/ea (no requirements) - £6k

You can send the monthly requirement for BOS over standing order between the 3 BOS accounts as it allows internal transfers for requirement.

ISA accounts may have withdrawal penalties so you'll probably receive next to nothing on 3 months.

Alternatively shove it in a NS&I (a good holding account) should you ever exceed £75k or don't want more current accounts for short term:
