Credit card fraud

in Credit cards
I was a victim of C.C. fraud a few months ago.The issuer(Nationwide) were very good about it and refunded the money. It was up to me if I wanted to cancel the card and obviously I did, and they issued me with a new one.
But I did lose out in the long run.I had recently bought a new P.C. with the promise of a free upgrade to Windows Vista.I had given my old credit card number(through a secure site,so this was NOT the fraud) and waited patiently for the 3 months delivery,Then I received an email from the company doing the upgrade saying that they had tried to charge my credit card and it had been cancelled. I tried in vain to explain what had happened to them and to Comet(where I bought the PC) but to to avail. So I lost out on the free upgrade worth over £100.You could say that it was my own fault for not updating my new credit card details, but it never entered my head to do it.
So if you are a victim of C.C. fraud, remember any outstanding goodies you are due and update your details.

That is harsh and I would fight the company for the free upgrade. You must have entered your address and contact details for them to verify. I mean your CC might have expired and you would then be in the same position with a card which would not work. They owe you a free upgrade and they should give it to you.0
