If you already have waterpipe cover elsewhere how can homeserve push you into getting their cover?

What's wrong with them selling such a policy?

Depends what you mean by water pipe.

Most home insurance policies include accidental damage to underground pipes and cables, which would be the mains water pipe but that wouldn't cover the internal plumbing.

Your internal plumbing may be covered under 'home emergency' but this is an option extra that you'd pay more for. Some 'premier' policies include home emergency as standard, but obviously you'd pay more for that policy anyway.

I don't quite understand where the mis-selling and pushing people into purchasing this type of policy comes into it though.
