Worst ever 24 hours on eBay!

eBay is very much on the back burner at the moment. I've only got 5 BINs listed at the moment and in the last couple of weeks I've sold a few jigsaws by auction.

But, even though I'm not doing much, this last 24 hours has turned into an eBay hell!

This time last night, somebody left feedback for me. It was a positive comment, but with a neutral 'dot'. This is the first non positive dot I've ever had. I messaged the buyer to ask if there was any problem I could sort out, and he messaged back saying that he thought neutral was 'like, good'.

Then one of my BIN's sold today. It was a spare calendar that I'd been given, so I thought it'd be nice and easy to pop it in to the post box. But it's been sold to somebody in the Phillipines. It's not included in the GSP, so I have to post it to him direct. He wanted quotes for different types of postage before he paid, then after he paid he had a list of requirements as to how he wants it packaged. It's one of those cases where you know 'something' will go pear shaped.

Then to top it all, I've just had an item not received case opened. A jigsaw I sent at the end of November hasn't been received.

Yesterday, my eBay account looked great - now it's a bit of a mess!

I'm just glad they're changing the defect system in February, otherwise I'd be getting a bit worried.

It just illustrates how things can go south on eBay very quickly, if a person has a run of bad luck.

  • If you don't want to sell outside the UK or via GSP you need to change your settings. If you do want to sell internationally (separate to GSP) then you should be adding postage into the listing.

I'm in the GSP for selling overseas, but unfortunately, the item I sold isn't included in the GSP, so it slipped through the net

Then you need to change your settings to prevent normal international buyers getting through.
