What is wrong with google these days?

Used to be such a good search engine with good results. Now? Rubbish, never brings up the useful sites and you have to click directly to the 5th or 6th page to bring up anything useful.

I have to search using negatives -kelkoo -dealtime -amazon etc etc.

Anyone know of a good search engine which isnt shopping triggered?

have you tried to personalise yor search with the big G?? might stop shopping sites coming up.

It's probably just reflecting where the web has moved to, a shoppers paradise, if you don't get shopping sites, you get hijackthis logs.

Google's terrible these days.

I've been looking for alternatives and found http://clusty.com/ to be pretty good, though I haven't really been using it long enough for a good comparison.

I've seen advertised ASK which calls itself "the other search engine" but I haven't tried it yet.
