Suzuki alto dashboard warning light
Hello, I have a suzuki alto (2014 model). Tonight I have noticed a small letter 'B' that is alight over the odometer. I've not seen it before. In the car manual there is a pic of the two letters AB above the odometer but I don't think they have been alight before. I also thought there might be a faint smell of burning oil this evening. Has anyone got any ideas what the problem might be? I'm not convinced about the burning oil smell tbh.

Could it need a service? The A and B may differentiate which service is required?0

On my car (which isn't a Suzuki) you can have two "journeys" measured with the odometer. Pressing & holding the reset button toggles between A & B.
Tripmeter was the word I was looking for. Page 45 in the manual I believe.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
As above, there are 2 tripmeters on my Suzuki, but you toggle between by a brief press of the reset button, a long press sets it to zero.
On my [STRIKE]Renault[/STRIKE] Nissan, there are loads of pointless functions to cycle through.
I zero the A trip when I fill with petrol, and refill at about 150 miles.
I zero the B trip before a long journey, so I can boast about how far I've gone, or claim mileage.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

My guess is a twin tripmeter, too. On my Mazda, there is a space at the end of the odometer display panel which shows A or B depending on which tripmeter is active in the display. The button cycles between A, B and the overall mileage, long press to reset.
I doubt if a letter B would be a warning message - they are usually a bit more dramatic than that.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Thanks to all of you, sorry for the tardy response! Yes, it's a twin tripmeter. My husband had been fiddling around trying to work how how many mpg the car does!0
