I'm getting 100s of emails from the US straight to my outlook via my sky account. I can't unsubscribe as there is no option on the email and I can't block sender as the email address 'doesn't exist'?? Any idea what I can do to stop these??
Thanks

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do other than use some kind of spam filter. There's often one built-in to the free webmail/IMAP email providers.
The sender's address of an email isn't validated in any way. You can type whatever you like into the sender field of an email.
Also, you don't want to "unsubscribe" from spam, as you never subscribed in the first place. Unsubscribing only confirms to the spammers that your email is valid, enabling them to sell your address to other spammers for a higher price, or just send you more spam.
There's this message on one of the Sky Yahoo! webpages. Don't know if it helps...I'm seeing more spam emails than usual. How do I fix this?
We are aware some customers are reporting seeing more spam emails coming through in their inbox following the switchover to Sky Yahoo! Mail.
If you are affected by this, please sign in to Sky Yahoo! Mail through Sky.com. Select the emails which are spam and then click on the "Spam" button above your list of emails. This will help to prevent further similar emails from being placed in your inbox.0 -
the problem is they are downloading to outlook but I can't see them in my online server mail
I've tried the above, fingers crossed.
I haven't clicked on any link as I know it just says 'yes I exist' thanks0 -
I've found Yahoo! Mail to be very good at spam filtering.
Best to create few email addresses for different purposes, different groups.
Can create disposable/temporary email addresses for 1 off, specific purposes, short to medium term periods, then switch them off if necessary.
Guard the email address you will use for core group, personal purposes & indefinitely long long term, don't use for subscriptions/marketing.
My original & first email address from the 1990s gets no spam, it used to occasionally for a while, but not anymore.0 -
Does Mailwasher still exist?0

Have a look at Spam Gourmet. You link an ID to your real email account, then you can make up temporary email addresses on the fly in the format uniquename.number.yourID@spamgourmet.com. Once you have received <number> of emails to your account, no further messages are forwarded.
You can use 0 as the number to receive unlimited messages. If you find you're being spammed, log in to Spam Gourmet and disable that address.
You can see from the <uniquename> who gave out your email address, and can limit or block spam, whilst still signing up for random stuff.
