Dough problem in breadmaker......

I put my breadmaker on a dough setting as i wanted to make some cobs tonight. When it had finished i realised that it hadn't mix the dough properly, i can only assume the beater had fallen down as i was putting in the ingrediants.
Anyway, i started it again (hoping it will still rise) but there is still 45 minutes left to go and i'm shattered. I can just about manage to wait the above 45 minutes but am too tired to wait while my cobs rise for 30 mins and then cook for a further 15 mins per tray ( i will have two trays).
My question...if i leave the dough in the fridge over night and make the dough into cobs in the morning, will they rise ok?
Does anyone know (i'll try and stay awake for the answer), thanks

I think they'll take a bit longer to rise tomorrow as they'll have to get back to room temperature, but I think it'll still work. In any case, as you really need to get some rest I think you'll just have to take a chance on it. Sometimes the need for rest is even more important than anything else!Resolution:

Hi there
Yep, they will still be fine...my mum always left her bread dough in the fridge overnight as during the day she was too busy cooking up a storm to wait for the dough to mix:D
We always just cover the bowl with a carrier bag , as the other poster says though it will just take them a little longer to rise....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Giving the bread a long slow rise in the fridge is fine - it's what a lot of bakers do to give the bread a better flavour. Like everyone else has said it might take a little bit longer to spring back to life in the morning, but it'll be fine
