Using iPad to video....

I have been using an ancient camcorder to film my boys growing up then using Adobe Premier Elements to crop videos, add music, photos etc before burning them on to a disc.

I realise this is a bit old hat now(!) and Adobe isn't great as the sound is usually out of sync by the time it's all burnt on to a disc. The good thing about it is you can make it like a dvd with a title page and nice effects between videos (turning pages etc) and you could mix things (video clips then photos then back to video) on the same disc.

So I want to start using my iPad to film but don't know what to do next - I'm not very techie!!
Can anyone recommend a good editing app or suggest how else I get my clips edited and on to a stick or something to keep. I don't want to keep them as computer files, would prefer to use a usb stick or something. I would also like to put photos in with the video rather than save them somewhere different.

If you keep them on a USB, they ARE computer files, which you can store on USB sticks, memory cards, and on your computer.

You should keep copies in more than one place, in case you lose your primary storage (the USB stick)

Yes, I realise they're computer files I just mean I want to put them on a stick rather than just leave them on a pc.

Can you recommend an editing app/tool??
