You aren't allowed to make a copy of a DNR for obvious reasons. I'm not sure how the original came to be lost as such an important document shouldn't be and especially not twice!! I'm assuming/hoping that the DNR are separate? As they are specific to the establishment they are in.
As for POA. There are now 2 seperate POA documents available. One deals with property and financial matters. The other deals with health and welfare. They are both very specific and if you want powers over all those things you have to apply for both. You can of course just apply for one if that's what the circumstances require. To have a say in any medical issues the health and welfare one is what you need.
These are currently not enforceable until they have been signed off by and received by you from the Office of the Public Guardian. This can take weeks longer than the old POA documents used to.
These are both now called a lasting POA. The old enduring POA is obsolete unless it was valid in 2007 before the changes.
As for your MIL, she will have had to have been of sound mind to sign POA documents. if she has dementia then it's likely that POA won't be granted without going through the courts.
It's nowhere near as simple a process as it used to be. And quite rightly so in my view.
I hope that is of some help and if not then it helped me fill my insomniac moment
Good luck with things. Not a pleasant time for your family.
Thanks for the reply. Mil's DNR is at the home where she now lives and the manager makes sure if she goes in to hospital it goes with her. Fil's was mislaid last week when he spent a week in hospital.
The Poa's were done in October and went to be registered early Dec and should be in place properly early Feb. Mil was still of sound mind when they were made and we got a lovely lady solicitor who also did my Mothers the same week. Sorry about your sleepless night have them often myself as I have some money worries that may explode on us this year. Happy new year0 -

I've found out why I've been having trouble finding the 02 wifi app, apparently it has been taken down for maintenance, has been down for nearly a month!!!
As for house security, when I was a lot younger my parents had a dog that would let everyone in, but no-one could get out without him being shut away, and that was very difficult :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
What beauties!
I have many matching tennis balls! You appear to have one or more power chewers, have you managed to find any toys that stand up to it other than kongs?
I'm forever replacing toys, normally don't last 48 hours but I still buy them to keep boredom at bay.
Any advice greatly recieved.RISEABOVEHATE

They destroy most toys, but unfortunately, when I have found something that is indestructable, they get bored with it after a while.
They much prefer a toy that can be ripped to shreds and that they can play tug-a-war with, in the process!:)N1LDA:D0 -

Can you tell me the glitch on the crisps please.
If it is still working today (which is currently looking promising and test shops reported), McCoys 6 packs are 2 for £2 in store, multi not showing on apg so £3.76 v £2 (£1.88 A v £1 each in S or M), £1.96 return on £2 spend. All 6 pack flavours confirmed yesterday and scroll back for examples of results/successful shops.
Pom Bears were also glitchy as were Skips with lower return.
Note the longest bbe date seems to be mid March so check the packs and beat to calculate how many you need/can use/can store (or how long you will go beyond the bbe date
). We now have "a few" to last until end of March
