Not sure how well this will show up - we had to pull Jas back through the cat flap to stop her going after this beauty which was almost at the back door. She was quivering with excitement.

I bet she was, fabulous picture! It's the one bird I would love to see in my garden. I have seen two lesser spotted in fifteen years but I don't think we have green ones up here. We see them regularly when we go to stay with friends near Milton Keynes. I'm very jealous!

It appears fairly regularly next door since they had an apple tree cut down and spends ages grubbing around where the remains of the stump are, but this is the first time it's come so close to our house.
