on ss its a real lottery at the moment store specific whether any at all will scan regardless of value-in 3 of mine whatever the value, none scan regardless of method used and all have to input by staff. Manned tills work fine and yesterday had to have a supervisor override for an apg at £11 so that new system still had the anything over £10 needs a superviser thing in place
I've had overrides at much less than £10 but it does seem to be getting better. SA at staffed till said £3 or over required supervisor, but that was not true as staffed till the other day managed to put through a £7+ voucher without requiring any override.
On SS, it seems to vary even within one store. I don't know whether it depends on which machine you go to - the other day I had one that wouldn't scan anything at all and have to have staff to do manually:(, then, on my other shop, the system suddenly reverted to the old system:huh: where the voucher value BC (the smaller one) scanned and took the amount off - but then required staff approval:mad:. (That one appeared as "Manuf Coupon" on the receipt and I'd done the first part - managed to get it to take the amount off - but then it needed the SA.)
I've had more luck today, but used a different machine (same one for two sep.shops) - every voucher worked fully:T, I shall keep going to that machine - I like when "Enter transaction number" comes up:j but, even then, the other day one of those then wanted staff approval:(. It seems to be scan the bottom BC and then I end up entering the transaction number manually as the BC on the receipt fails to scan on the machine. I've had success but it's still haphazard. Manned till today managed to scan the voucher bottom BC but then took ages trying to scan the receipt - I wondered if they could enter the TC no. manually at that stage, they did and it worked and didn't need a supervisor!:T0 -

Thanks bubbs. You have such a good memory, you always remember everything that goes on on here. Don't know how you do it.
Hopefully it will be a case of tubes out, learning to cath through my channel will be easy, and I will be leak free, but as nothing has gone smoothly so far I'm not exactly holding my breath!0 -

Mr TM goes away cycling for a week soon and I want to be prepared.
I'm just thinking about a weapon of choice to take to bed with me. :rotfl:
What are your thoughts on a dry powder fire extinguisher? I obviously don't want to blind anyone or ruin my carpets:o But would you consider it to be a useful deterrent?
Or do you think I would struggle with the pin trigger thing in the heat of the moment?
And then there's the issue of disguising it in the bedroom:o
Would a golf club be a more sensible idea?
When dad had the shops he use to bring home Saturdays takings rather than deposit in the safe wall system so mum could count it and do the books. I am now the proud owner of both my grandfathers and my fathers koshes. We found a very modern one, an obvious kosh not baseball bat but took to tip as not sure how leagal. I don't keep it by the bed as could be seen as a potential weapon but I do keep it in house as feel dad is protecting me then. Was quite a shock to find them as not something we had ever seen as kids. I also have my 'Bunny' only pellets but looks good.
I would invest in a very loud rape alarm as enough to scare them out of house.

A noisy dog would be perfect if I didn't have Oz:o
I suppose a tennis raquet would not look as suspect but I would go with a nice legal loud rape alarm.
