Now a not so pleasant post, but a warning to everyone especially those with children.

with a new car and a shiny new kitchen you will now be far too posh for the rest of us :rotfl:

don't fret too much about the empty nest stage - I found that mine were forever shuttling back and forth - it depends on how far they have to come.
Eldest son is army so from basic training he used us to send letters so I've always done that wherever he is as he was abroad for years.
but even if my gang are frantic busy with their lives I send them photos of the cats and garden, things I've bought or places we have been to visit, the odd funny joke or video etc so at least they know we are alive and kicking and we are thinking about them

The first few months feel really empty but when you get up in the morning, house scrub for a few hours and it stays shiny and clean for most of the day or at least until OH rolls in. You use the washing machine a normal amount 3 or 4 times a week instead of 3 or 4 times a day so that frees up an hour every day when you are not sorting or hanging or ironing or washing. You can put nice things in the fridge and they will still be there when you go to get them...

She was at the hospital yesterday and then had to go back this morning to have the dressings renewed.

She is going to complain as far as I am aware.
