Duck tomorrow, anybody got a decent recipe for a Gressie?
Yes,makexstock veg in a roasting pan, carrots, onions , giblets, garlic, ginger, rosemary, thyme, bay leaves.
Place the duck on the top shelf above the stock veg for one hour then replace the tray with your potatoes and let the duck fat drip into the potatoes. Meanwhile drain the Fat off the stock veg and then make gravy using them add port at the end, delish!0 -

I'm telling them nothing. they are like mad scientists sitting together to baffle the mere mortals of the world
Honestly a match made in heaven. Houseguest looks after DS2 in a way I've never hoped was possible but the arguments that they have  :rotfl::rotfl:
there's a real chemistry between them that is fantastic but when they disagree it's toxic!
I think it's like Einstein having a disagreeing twin. :rotfl::rotfl:
They are on holiday and are still up and are putting the world to rights as I head wearily off to my bed. I just hope they keep the noise down0 -

Not been able to keep up for last few days (as can be seen from quotes) but up to date now :jSunshinemummy wrote: »We had not planned getting a dog. One morning I had watched Beethoven film with the kids, and then took them to the seaside for a walk and fish and chips....... saw an advert for a dog, rang and went to visit.
When we arrived someone was 'returning' a puppy. When she was put on the floor she ran under the kitchen cupboard and kept banging her head......... she was clearly meant for our family.
She is nearly 12 and is still in puppy mode!:D:D:D:D
Aww bless :heartsmilOn the subject of strange names given to animals at the animal shelters and RSPCA homes etc our Tortoiseshell cat Sophie came from the RSPCA sanctuary locally and her given name then was
ANGELINA
can you imagine screaming Angelina at 10 o'colock at night out of the patio door when you are trying to get her to come in so you can go to bed :rotfl:
she is definatly not an Angelina
The first Romanian rescue dog I fully sponsored almost two years ago was a scruffy terrier called Bollek and he actually came to my local rescuer for rehoming, so I got to meet him :j But rescue changed his name to MontyWhen I said I would have kept his name, she said that could you imagine walking him and shouting 'Bollek' for him to return. I had to agree
Oh squigs, I am so sad to read your news. I know how much your dogs mean to you, and Paddy no eyes was a much loved companion. At least he passed away in his sleep and didn't linger in pain, though that doe snot make it any easier to bear. He is out of pain and running freely over the Bridge, eyes fully working now, and on the lookout for you when the time comesMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Is that right?
That's correct.
Today, 22nd, is the shortest day this year, due to something similar to the leap year effect. (Normally it is the 21st December.)
So here we are! As from tomorrow sunset will be a little later each day.
Happy Winter Solstice everyone! We're heading in the right direction now! :T“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

I was always lead to believe that 21st was first day of winter, (it was my DS1s 21st birthday) I always say he was the best Christmas pres I ever got:) he's a good lad and was more than happy with a thunderbirds box set and a cross stitch I made him with some Frank turner lyrics on. Must wake him for work in a bit there was a midweek gaming session last night after we went bed and he and a friend are still slumbering on the settees.
Need to brave Ts tonight for the last shop
Have a good day all and I hope everyone is about there with the christm prep.:)
Squigs, so sorry to read about paddy 'no eyes' passing, I hope it was peaceful, hugs and coping vibes to you during this sad and difficult time.
Fairclaire I had to smile at the image of you on your chopper with clickers clicking away and streamers trailing in the breeze as you pedal away from the nasty cells that have been bothering you. May you cross the finish line and leave the illness trailing in your wake.
In all seriousness I do hope the treatment is successful and the new year brings you full recovery and health.SPC~12 ot 124
