My dil works for a big marketing agency and Amex is her client. She wrote this in an email to me the other day.
"Yes I work on the Shop Small campaign and the aim is to ultimately make Amex a brand not just associated with businessmen and convince more independent businesses to accept Amex. Each time you use it with a Shop Small partner during the campaign till 20th December you get £5 credit. They've had loads of issues with updating the map of partners though so most of the forums have been complaining about who turned them away."
Well the Elite haven't had too many problems but they are the Elite!!
My understanding was that until recent years their % charge to retailers was prohibitive with a much higher fee than Visa and Mastercard that meant many retailers wouldn't take them. I believe they reviewed their fee structure to expand their network.

If some kind soul has a minute, please could they explain the deal with desserts at T. I'm not a good T shopper at the best of times, so need it spelling out lol.[/QUOTE]
I think the T deal ends today. Profiteroles at £6, buy 1 get 1 free. Hand in 2 of the £1.25 dessert coupons from the T mag thus giving 2 lots of pud for £3.50. I think there are other puds in the range as well. I haven't done this but thought I might not realising last day of offer today..0 -
There are a couple of desserts that are b o g o f in Tesco , profiteroles, chocolate log, strawberry gateau, and a mandarin cheesecake they are £6 so £3 each . In the catalogue there s a coupon for £1.25 off . Tills are recognising £12 so can use two coupons . So £3.50 for two. Think offer finishes today though

My daughters husband's brother is running the marathon for 2nd time this year to raise funds for the Leonard Cheshire home. He held a fund raising evening last night. I donated 42 bottles Cidre for the bar and went to sell raffle tickets. it was a lovely evening and as they have 3 little girls it was very child orientated with face painting a kids disco and a make your own Xmas crown competition.
I won 2 prizes in the draw. A £25 vouchers for a local jeweller and a £20.00 voucher for a framed pic from a local photographer. There was also a picture quiz that i won too and got a nice Waitrose box of Xmas goodies. Was glad to put Cidre to good use and still have plenty for Xmas He raised just under £1000.000 -

Asked in 2 different M&S yesterday about the conditional spend leaflets normally around at this time of year. Both said the same: no leaflets this year to cut cost of printing. Till giving out random conditional spends £5 off £30, valid 26 Dec - 13 Jan. The lovely sa in my superstore told me the ss tills not giving them out as they generate too much paper which customers don't pick up.
I split my small shop into 2, paid at an ordinary till & got 2 vouchers. Will do this next shop as well. A pain you've now got to spend £30 but still useful as I like their food.
Dh has had some T conditional spend vouchers in post so been using them with the T extra points vouchers to get M&S gift cards so should still work out reasonable. Fingers crossed they still have their freezer offers. Used to be called freezer fortnight but only lasted a week last year. We like their fish.0 -

Strange I was just looking at TVs as my mums one has stopped working and she is worried about not having a TV for Christmas lol. How do you know you can collect it tomorrow as I looked and there is no click and collect on this. Is there a way to find out if they have it in the shop online or do you have to phone them
tia
i rang john lewis up just now, none in stock in my local
but she said we can deliver on the 24th of december :j:j (free delivery on my one)
i just love the jl set up.
so to be clear. if you ring their ho 03456049049 they will tell you if the tv your after will be delivered in time.
