I don't do cards. I find them completely and utterly wastefulI get why people send them though.
I was lucky enough to get into work this week and we have a whiteboard. I've written a message on it wishing everyone a very happy Christmas and an explanation of why I don't send cards. it seems to have gathered pace because 6 people have ticked my message
they might well have called me a tight cow as well but hey ho. I've sent the chuckle brothers into school this week with a shoe box full of beauty treats for the wonderful special needs staff there in lieu of Christmas cards. Every single item in it was free. DS2 would rather not be involved but house guest has taken it all on board and is looking forward to pleasing his female fansit's their time......geeks are fashionable and I say go for it lads!

Hi FC great to hear that you've managed to get into work this week. As long as you don't over stretch yourself sweetheart. Listen to your body and REST when the feeling comes on, you'll do yourself no favours , so remember, you were told here. Many times infact
I'm heading to bed as meds are kicking in and the keys are merging into one
Easy day for me tomorrow as I have to have a heavy one Friday :eek:going to collect ds1 and take him Christmas shopping then drive him home. His bus doesn't leave his village until 10.25am. I can pick him up at 9am.
We, DH and I are then going off to see our granddaughters. Ds2 has nothing to do with them or us. He also has 2 more youngsters with his girlfriend, we never see them
Good night Elite, I'm going to have a few games on Cc and ccSoda , see you tomorrow x
Snap, I hope you sleep fitfully sweetheart xThere's no place like home

Going to work was tiring physically but emotionally it was uplifting. Struggles are struggles no matter what they are and it was nice to share struggles that are different to mine.
A guy at work has such terrible back problems he's going to have his spine fused in the next couple of weeks. I pushed him around the arboretum in a wheelchair this summer. to think he might actually walk around it the next time we go is something I don't have words for. As I've said to many people here.....a problem is only as big as its effect on you.0 -
It is, provided we get there, 4 hour journey, me + 3 kids
I worked out a way to get 4 Lounge passes for £9, so they will be enthralled by the Lounge experience lol
I took my elder son in once, but the other 2 never saw it!
£9 each - a real bargain
Getting cheap lounge passes now that really is a black art but something really vital before long haul flights“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I think we need to make a list. Who has not received their tesco/morrisons vouchers? I have six outstanding vouchers (other family members)
1. matty17r
I have left a message on the Sun's contact page along with quite a few other disgruntled readers.
matty we sent off for 2 of each vouchers. 1set for ds3 which has already had. Think Tesco one came first and he waited ages for Morries, but he is a happy bunny. He should be as we bought the papers, collected the coupons and even supplied envelope and stamps
We have had Tesco one quite a while but still waiting and waiting for Morries. All four got posted at same post box at the same time.
I have noticed a rather slow trickle of Morries coming in now so we may not have to wait too much longerThere's no place like home

in other news and this is really just for mhoc because I know she's interested
if you're not then trot on
we had an appointment with a specialist probate solicitor this week. We are in a mess because I have lasting POA of OH affairs....at his request. that leaves him belly up if I expire prematurely which is a distinct possibility
We also had the heartbreaking task of putting belt and braces on our plans for DS2 without them being too much of a burden on our other kids. lots of tears but it had to be done.
this has caused me so many sleepless nights. I was going to be the old woman with her not quite right son in tow forever.....until I got old and died. I had a plan to teach him to look after himself. I'm not going to get there and I'm scrabbling around thinking no one else is good enough....but they are:o they all have his back and I'm worrying too much for nothing0 -
Thanks.
This flight, availability was exceptional, SC - 10/12 emergency exit seats available. I know what you mean, though - let's see how we fare on the return, I'll have my wife as well then but she doesn't really care about exit seats, just sitting next to my daughter.
Bit odd, but horses for courses and all that.
Sometimes you can be lucky and get bassinet seats (with the extra leg room) that have been held back and are released at the last minute.Avios. We normally value them @ 1p & I have been known to get 1.6p of value from them (savings by using Avios vs published BA flight fares). Today and for the next few days you can buy them for about 0.75-0.8p via Groupon in Spain. It is a bit fiddly but all is explained on Headforpoints.
Suffice it to say, I am careful with our money but we fly a lot, this is a real saving for us so I have bought 100K between my wife & myself, I would not do that if it were a bad deal. I have crunched the maths over there.
IMV very good to get a cheap 'bank' of Avios in your name, 100K sometimes takes years to accumulate via Tesco etc, though those points are cheaper. It means you can take advantage of cheap Avios redemption possibilities. Use them on regular flights as follows http://www.headforpoints.com/2015/07/27/british-airways-avios-redemption-pricing-by-route/
Sorry to hijack elite stuff so more info on HFP.
I don't think you need to apologise, I have no Adsa near me, but cope with umpteen adsa posts.
Widening the knowledge base is always useful.
I do sometimes wonder if there is a value in accumulating so many that you never get to use them. If BA pulled out of one destination our burn rate would drop.
