Can I get 1000mbps speed with a cheap switch on a Sky Hub router?

I have a 10/100/1000 network card in my PC and we are on Sky with the latest Sky Hub 2 which has 10/100 mbps ports only.
If I add the cheap Netgear switch below, will I get faster download speeds? Or will the Sky Hub bottleneck it?

Are these switches just like the old hubs? I just plug my PC into the switch then the switch plugs into the router and it all works automatically?
I appreciate any help, did some networking 10 years ago but it's been a while.

The hub is the bottle neck but I doubt you'll max out a 100mbps port with Sky broadband.0

If you check the hub settings you should be able to see the connection speed the hub negotiated with the ISP.
You will never download faster than the connection will allow.0 -
You'd need to upgrade the router to one with 1Gb/s Ethernet ports to allow the whole network to operate at that speed. But yes -- switches are connected just like hubs.
Obviously that will make no difference to Internet download speeds unless your 100Mb/s network is a limiting factor.0
