We just got a Bengal cat and have a few questions

We just got a Bengal cat as the owner could not have her anymore as their little girl was allergic to her.
They asked loads of questions to make sure she was going to the right home, as the price we paid was extremely cheap and had loads of items with her too. They really wanted to make sure someone was willing to pay for her.
But she has been spayed and her paperwork destroyed as the owner did not want her to be taken advantage of with babies or sold on for profit, which was fine for us as we wanted a companion for our other cat (our other cat died 6 months ago
)
We just wondering about the breed for Insurance. She is down on one of the vets paperwork as Bengal Cross. The owner said her dad was a Snow Bengal and mum was Rose Bengal. So is this a cross or a pure breed Bengal.
Any advice would be great thanks

Can't see anything online about Rose Bengals, but Snow is just a particular colour variation. If both parents were different coloured Bengals, then the kitten is still a pure Bengal. Bit like a chocolate Labrador and a yellow Labrador - the pups are still all Labradors.
You could potentially put her down as a Bengal cross if the paperwork suggests/supports it, but I have heard of insurance companies checking with vets on whether they feel the breed is accurate, so it could be risky if she looks like a purebred Bengal. Plus if as far as you're aware she's purebred, it would be fraud to claim otherwise.0 -
What is the age difference between the new cat and your current established cat?
Are there any other cats in the area?
The reason, I suspect that so many questions were asked - "very active, this is a busybody, and not a pet-it-and-forget-it sort of cat". The ancestry of the breed back to a 'wild cat' is short - and they can get big at 5.5 to 10 kg.
Be prepared for it wanting to establish him/herself as top-cat in your area.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
She (izzy) is 7 months old and Abigail is 9 years old. There are around 3 cats in the area 4 including Abi. 3 Moggies and a Siamese We did have 2 more (George and Freddie) but they both died over the last 2 years. George was 9kg and like a long bear so the size is not an issue really.
Yes we did read up about the breed before taking her in.0 -
OP - rose or rosette? Rosette is type of the shape of the markings in bengals, rosette is different than marble - just the shape of the markings like here :

A friend of mine had a Bengal, oh my word, so much energy! And it could jump astonishingly high.
Very entertaining, but I'm not sure it will exactly be "company" for your current cat.0 -
I agree that you have to be truthful for Insurance purposes....but if you have no paperwork and did not meet the cat's 'parents' then technically many would say she is a moggie. I would ask your vet to assess her and see what they say, but there is many a regular tabby cat sold on Gumtree as pure Bengal or Bengal cross.0

If she was registered then the GCCF should still have the records - which will tell you if she is purebred or not. Probably best to put purebred on the insurance - you don't want to be in a situation where they won't pay out for any reason.
I'm will Pollycat - pics!!
Sorry about your other cat:(
