Dimplex Bathroom Wall fan heater

We have an old ( and we believe discontinued) Dimplex Bathroom Eall fan heater with a light. We think it about 15 years old. It works fine but the cord to turn it on and off is broken and needs replacing. We cannot find the model number anywhere.Has someone any idea where we can find the model number so we can try and purchase the required replacement part. I presume it is fairly easy to fit by removing the outer casing. Any help will be greatly appreciated,

    Is this cord any special?
Can a basic ceiling switch cord not do the job?

  • Have you tried E Mailing Dimplex they be able to help. Be careful if you are not a DIY person when taking the front cover off. It is always easier to remove than to put back on. Stating the obviouse make sure electriccity switch is off.

Going into the case is not normally needed, the new pull-cord is threaded and knotted as can be clearly seen in the lower of the three pics above, ditto the lower end cut to length an re-knotted.

The problem with such heaters is often that the cord goes out on the side and wears out in this place because of friction:

  • The Old Dimplex Bathroom Wall Fan heater has the cord coming from the unit at the bottom. I have one and as far as I can see you have to unscrew and remove the cover to replace the cord. Ours has a light intigrated onto the front cover.
