Flights 2016 cheaper than 2015

Does anyone have any idea of prices will be going up or down next year?
I have found some ok prices to go to South America but they are a little bit more than we paid last year.

If you are happy with the price you have found then book it-and do not check again.
  • If anyone could predict flight prices we'd all be better off ;) I don't actually know anyone with a crystal ball that works with intricate airline pricing though.

My experience is they have risen for next year,we have booked our three holidays for February,June and September.
The Feb holiday is a package to Jamaica and that has gone up by £400, the flights for June are £100 each higher and September for the family is £650 more

If it wasn't for the fact that airlines hedge so far in advance then the predicted oversupply of oil leading to a fall in fuel prices ought to mean lower fares, but that might not be for several years, if it all.

Yes the travel industry believes next year will be better than 2015, specifically for long haul flights. Whether we see millions returning to Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt is a different matter altogether but if demand increases, so do fares so probably better to book now rather than wait.
  • We are looking for a trip next october and some places are full already and the flights are much more expensive than this year.
Easy Jet put their flights on the web today for holidays from next october and we couldn;t book because the site crashed.

Did you book at the same time of year both times?

They are very confusing they go up and down with no logic. Long haul are particularly hard to predict

There's plenty of logic involved, you're just looking at it with close to none of the facts that are used to calculate the offer price, so it looks arbitrary from your perspective.

Installing and using Tor browser for flight and holiday searching will mitigate some of the day to day fluctuation as their server can't identify the PC being used to search with.

FWIW - I've booked a couple of flights for next year (Fuerteventura and Majorca) so far and they're slightly cheaper, not enough to come to any sort of conclusion Vs 2015 prices though.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
