I would urge all sellers to make routine checks of their new expanded seller dashboard as there are apparently issues with the defects appearing.
I had a defect for a cancelled sale due to me being out of stock when I have definitely not chosen that option. I have phoned ebay and after a bit of minor arguing they agreed that there are errors with the new defect reporting. Apparently, defects are showing up incorrectly as the system is still under trial , but I was assured I shouldn't worry. I explained I was worried, but again was told it isn't a problem as all these wrong defects will of course just disappear once the system realises they are wrong and ebay will fully protect us from any problems arising by the system being at fault.
Hmm, well I'm not reassured at all- don't know about the rest of you? I asked them to remove my defect just to humour me in case the system didn't pick it up automatically, and they have agreed to do so.

I check my dashboard regularly, and do have a defect for a cancelled transaction, but it was deserved
Personally I wouldn't believe that any unfair defects will be removed.
I do wonder what will happen to all the sellers previously removed from EBay due to the old defect system.You're only young once, but you can be immature forever
