There's a Travel Inn and a Britannia Hotel right next to the airport. There's a Premier Lodge and a Millers pub/restaurant about half a mile away.
If you wanted to stay in Newcastle city centre, there's masses of accomodation there. The Metro trains run frequently up to the airport. Timetable and info here:

There's also a Formule 1 next to the Novotel at the junction of the A1/A696 (about 3 miles south of the airport) - no desperately near any Metro, but a cab ride would be no more than 5 minutes. There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0 -

Perhaps you could put him up for the night then - and charge less than the Formule 1 - both win then.... you get some £ for your spare room, he gets his cheap hotel room

There's a Metro by the 24 hour Tesco's - less than 10 minutes walk from F1 & all downhill.Hunnymonster wrote:There's also a Formule 1 next to the Novotel at the junction of the A1/A696 (about 3 miles south of the airport) - no desperately near any Metro, but a cab ride would be no more than 5 minutes.0 -

If you are flying from Newcastle near the end of July I don't think you will get anything cheap as the tall ships will be in Newcastle. I would also book asap as the hotels are expected to be very busy.0
