Scissors help please?

Options
Hi, I've decided to make a pompom rug and bought some pompom makers off ebay that are brilliant, it only takes a few minutes to wind the wool on, what I'm struggling with is cutting the wool, I even bought new sharp scissors but they can hardly get through the wool, the only scissors that seem to work are a pair of children's safety scissors I bought about 7 years ago , which bamboozles me. The only thing is the grip hurts my thumb so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good scissors that they have found good when cutting through a thick bunch of wool like you do when you make pompom's. Thanks in advance.

  • Tough going to cut through wool!! If its comfort you need I would suggest buying scissors with comfort grips and teflon blades (cut right to the tip). Try e-bay for this as there are many available choices. I do paper crafts and have several pairs with yellow comfort grip handles.
