I, too, have received an LBA today from CEL relating to a Parking Enforcement Notice issued in winter 2012, the last correspondence of which was sent early 2013. I ignored all correspondence.

The original charge was £150, reduced to £75, then increased on the threatening but totally fake County Court letter to over £200.

Interestingly, the latest correspondence, which includes awful quality draft particulars, and a press release regarding Beavis vs Parkingeye, reduces the charge to £85, plus £40 costs.

£85? What, exactly the same amount that the Supreme Court ruled wasn't excessive in the Beavis case? Coincidence? I think not. What a bunch of Shysters...

    Thanks for your replies.

I would be happy to upload documents tomorrow morning, once I work out how to upload and have removed details, etc. :)

We have kept everything, including the receipt for £370 worth of goods purchased from the retail park that day.

Interestingly, the incident took place 20 days before they issued the notice. As they don't quote the 2012 thingy, not sure if the 14 day time limit thing applies in this case.

Changed my wording in the above post to incident - I am not a criminal!

The 14 day time limit "thing" definitely applies in this case as it's after 1st October 2012. So CEL would have to prove who the driver was as they cannot rely on POFA.

As a matter of interest what figure did CEL use on their 21/12/12 NTK?

    ??
  • OK, that's good news!

The enforcement notice amount was £150, or £75 if paid within 14 days.

Here's the letter from 2013 with supposed 'county court claim forms':

And here's the most recent correspondence:

If someone could adjust these image urls for me, I would appreciate it.

Any advice on whether to ignore or proceed (and how to proceed) at this stage would be great.

The initial notice was dated 20 days after the incident - not sure if this is relevant, but we did not receive it within 14 days. It was sent to the registered keeper, made no reference to whether they knew who was driving the vehicle, and all correspondence has been addressed to the registered keeper - assuming that they were responsible. There is more than one driver of this car... and that's all I'm saying! :-)
