Call from Scottish Widows regarding my 2012 claim

Hi all, I received voicemail yesterday from someone saying they are from Scottish Widows and wanted to talk some more about my claim back in 2012. I have two number's I can call, one is a freephone.

I was just wondering if this is normal/genuine to get a call like this after a few years?

It is not uncommon if a failure in the original claim was a possibility. Such as an incorrect rejection for your claim or the incorrect amount paid. It can happen where a staff member has made repeated mistakes. The insurer will go back over the cases that person dealt with to see those were done correctly or not. e..g if you were making a claim on a critical illness policy and you were incorrectly rejected as the illness wasnt covered but later found it was.
