Quidco- How does it work?

Hiya,

Just been on to quidco and it looks interesting but what I want to know is who it benefits most? I don't do much online shopping so would it be worth me signing up? Does it work like pigsback where you can do click throughs and sihn up to news letters and still be paid?

Thanks in advance for any help :D

Well after having a look it looks rather like all cashback operators out there. The only difference is that they give you 100% back for what you spend.

I doubt that thay then give you emails to earn points.

I did a test and looked at boots they give 3.5% back.

    Boots affiliate gives 3.5% back.

They do charge an annual fee of £5 so if you dont do much shopping this prob isnt the one you need.

If you are looking for some sort of rewards for emails sent to you then mutual points is a good one.

I all have learnt is from others on many sites.

Quidco works like many of these sites.
The benefit with Quidco is that you get all of the cashback (less £5 a year)
I've been checking other sites and Quidco seems to offer the best deals.

    I've been a member since Dec 05 and I've just passed £900!

Some of the best deals are on insurance with the Pru and Lloyds offering over £100 cash-back.

The money takes a couple of months to be paid - and sometimes it fails - but not often in my case (I think I'm about £25 down out of the £900)

Thanks for the link king100

Wow Garetha- £900 in 2 years for not really doing anything sounds great

Think I'm a bit late to save any money for xmas but if I'm buying for xmas then maybe a little towards the new year :D

Agree with Garetha, I love Quidco. Look at Martin's info about the cashback sites and don't buy things that you wouldn't anyway or more expensive than otherwise. Also, always clear your cookies before buying anything, and also ensure that your minimum payment is, say, £10 so that you get more frequent payments.

I don't buy masses of stuff but am up £312 since October 2006 with house insurance (I think log on twice once for buildings and once for contents), car insurance, Boots stuff, breakdown, travel insurance etc. In fact, I would always check online for any expenditure, and always via Quidco. I've never yet had anything not track, but things do take a few months. But it's money you would not have had, so is just a tax-free bonus!

    Hope this helps

There's also lots of money to be made on Quidco without really spending anything! e.g. Gala bingo pays £30 for a £10 deposit so even though you shell out the £10 initially you get that back plus £20 (and you may even win on the bingo as quite a few people on here have!). Bonus! I've made £240 in about 10 days...

Check out the thread Free Money from Quidco for more ideas.

I posted a guide in another thread a few months ago which I've copied below for you:

What is a cashback site and how do they work?

Read Martin's updated article which explains all about Cashback sites and how to make money from them HERE

    How do I join Quidco?

Just register at www.quidco.com and complete your details including your email address and preferred payment method.

Do Quidco provide any referral links or incentives?

No Quidco don't have a referral scheme at all. They only deduct £5 in earnings from each member so don't pay any extra referral bonuses. People recommend Quidco genuinely without any benefit to themselves.

How does the admin fee work?

Quidco charge £5 annual fee which is deducted from the cashback that you receive. If you don't earn at least £5 then you don't pay anything at all. There are no upfront fees and Quidco don't take any additional commission from affiliate sites (unlike the majority of other cashback sites.)
    http://www.quidco.com/help/20/

How do I get paid by Quidco?

You can choose to get paid by BACS transfer directly into your bank account. This is completely secure and involves giving out your bank sort code and account number (which can all be found on a standard cheque!) There is no charge for BACS transfers and you can set your own minimum payment level at literally 0!

Alternatively, you can choose to receive payments below £50 by Paypal. Quidco do not charge for this, but you may be subject to a withdrawal fee charged by Paypal (for withdrawing amounts below £50.) If you have a Premier Paypal account, you will also be charged an additional fee by Paypal to receive the payment.

    When will I get paid?

Quidco make payments once every month, usually processed on the last working day of the month. These take around 3 days to reach your bank account. If you log into your Quidco account and click on 'My Earnings' and then click on each month, it will list all of your transactions through Quidco and will indicate what stage the payment is currently at. It will also indicate the month in which the payment is likely to be made.

Does Quidco offer 'clickthroughs' or 'free points' like Pigsback?

Quidco don't offer 'clickthroughs' as such but it is possible to earn cashback without spending any money.

You can get paid small amounts to run searches for items on different sites. You don't actually have to make any purchases to get the cashback - just click through to an advertised site after running a search.

You can go to the Kelkoo website, for example, via Quidco and search for any item. You just need to type in a keyword and press 'search'. The site will then bring up a list of items from different sites. You need to click through to one of the sites and you will get paid 10p just for searching. There is only one payment per person per day. :)

There are similar 'daily clicks' available through High Street Web, Carsource and Shopping.com

Are there any other ways to make money without spending loads?

You can get cashback for signing up to online DVD trials:
    £10 Easycinema http://www.quidco.com/easycinema/
    £12.50 Screenselect http://www.quidco.com/screenselect/
    £5 Movie Stream http://www.quidco.com/my-movie-stream/

    For switching bank accounts:

    Alliance & Leicester £50 http://www.quidco.com/alliance-leice...rrent-account/

    For switching utility providers:

http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilities/british-gas/ (Various amounts depending on the service)
http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilit...tish-power/(up to £35 for dual fuel)
http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilities/powergen/ (Up to £50 for dual fuel)
http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilit...ergy-helpline/ (£12 or £13 for phone or fuel switch)

You can also get cashback for being accepted for credit cards. (remember this affects credit records)

    MBNA £8.50 http://www.quidco.com/mbna-rewards/
American Express up to £40 http://www.quidco.com/american-express/
    Egg £35 http://www.quidco.com/finance/credit.../the-egg-card/
    Post Office £20.50 http://www.quidco.com/finance/credit-cards/post-office/

Some Smaller Payouts that will help out

Smaller payouts include 35p for sending off for a free 02 sim card (once per account) http://www.quidco.com/o2-free-sim/
Getting brochures from Catalink pays 40p http://www.quidco.com/catalink/
Brochure bank 5p per brochure ordered (max 5) http://www.quidco.com/brochure-bank/
Brochures4Me 35p for sending off for free brochures http://www.quidco.com/brochures4me/
Newsletter sign up at Lands End pays 25p http://www.quidco.com/lands-end/
£4 for a free trial at Audible http://www.quidco.com/audible/
Sign up to survey sites eg: Test & Vote £1.80 http://www.quidco.com/test-and-vote/
£4 for buying lottery ticket online http://www.quidco.com/the-national-lottery/

    Any other good deals?

Quidco offer good rates of cashback for certain magazine subscriptions. Just remember that repeatedly taking advantage of the same offer can be classed as 'abuse' and lead to the account being closed! Don't take the mick or these offers get withdrawn from Quidco and everybody misses out. :(

You can get £10.40 cashback for subscribing to a free trial for The Business mag http://www.quidco.com/magazine-group-the-business/

you can get £30 for a £10 spend on gala bingo (£20 profit), for a genuine new member who deposits and wagers at least £10

    http://www.quidco.com/gala-bingo/

Please note you will not be eligible for this cashback offer if you are already a Coral user (or registered with any other Coral group site). The membership on each site crosses-over to the other so you will not fulfill the new member criteria

    Inkclub £9 for a first purchase http://www.quidco.com/inkclub/

Credit Expert Uk £5 for signing up to the one month free trial ( cancel within 30 days by ringing up, easy !! ) pays your initial £5 quidco fee and lets you check your credit file for free

    http://www.quidco.com/credit-expert-uk/

    Is the cashback guaranteed?
It is never 100% guaranteed, unfortunately. Each company has statistics listed on the left hand side of the page which indicates their track record in terms of tracking sales and the speed that they pay out cashback. The cashback owed to you is tracked through affiliate links. If you have previously visited a company's website, the commission could be paid to a different party rather than to Quidco. Quidco only pass on the commission once they have been paid by the website involved.

The best way to avoid any problems with transactions not 'tracking' is to clear your cookies before you make any purchase.

How do I delete my cookies?
Intructions for Microsoft Windows 98 and later
    1. Quit Internet Explorer and quit any instances of Windows Explorer.
    2. In Control Panel , double-click Internet Options.
    3. On the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files, and then click OK.
    4. Click OK.
    Instructions for Firefox
    1. Open the Tools menu.
    2. Select Options.
    3. Select the Privacy to open sub-menu.
    4. Click the View cookies item.
    5. Select one or more cookies you want to remove and click "Remove Cookie". Clicking "Remove All Cookies" will delete all cookies.
One of my transactions hasn't tracked. How do I submit an enquiry?
If you have waited for the length of time recommended by the statistics for that particular merchant, you can submit an earnings enquiry. This is the direct link but you need to be logged in for the link to work: http://www.quidco.com/new-enquiry/

Is there a general email address for Quidco?
No - Quidco have advised that the best way to contact them is to 'raise a ticket' through their site. They do view this thread but are unable to answer questions about specific accounts on here - just offer general advice and information.

Can I purchase things for other people using my own Quidco account?
No - Quidco rules states that each account should only be used for one person. They cover their costs by taking a one-off fee of £5 from each account per year. If you choose to purchase items in other people's names, it could lead to your Quidco account being closed. If a transaction does not track then you will not be able to submit an enquiry if it was not in your name.

Can two different Quidco accounts get paid into the same bank account/paypal account?
Yes - there's no problem with payments going into the same account.

Hmm, I've just looked at mutualpoints and you get £20 for 3000 points - this seems a lot of points, are they easy to accumulate?

My misses has managed to accumulate 7000 points for just clicking emails.

Its not a get quick rich scheme but its free money.

And even if you maybe take up an offer it will soon add up.
