Hello! You started this diary 6 months ago with £5k worth of debt you are now in at least £15k worth. Have you spoken to any debt charities? Signing up to an IVA or DMP might be a good idea for you. Plus getting away from the stress of debt and the availability of credit could massively help your mental state.
I don't think what youre going through is a quick fix situation. In your position I would hound my GP for the right meds and consider volunteering work. A couple of hours a week in a charity shop without stress or being relied upon but still feeling useful could really help. And I think a walk everyday no matter what would help. I say this from experience and think you should consider it as the start of getting back to how you want to be rather than writing yourself off indefinitely. You are worth it and you deserve to be happy. Remember that
Plus cex for games - take in all your old games & consoles and trade in for a ps4
And I love lindy bop for 50s clothes on a budget.

gocurlygirl - I got all your replies! Feeling very popular right now lol. Yes the Sports Direct mug cures all.
Kitten868 - I'm considering it, but OH is still very much in denial about how bad it is. We've already thought about the CEX thing, but if we sold everything in our living room (DVDs, games and even furniture) it would come to about £150 so we won't be rushing out to buy anything any time soon. I like Lindy Bop, but I like charity shop 80s-does-50s finds better.A walk a day would be lovely, but pain in my feet means getting to the other end of the flat is a struggle most days.
Just got OH to sit down and look at our budget (sneakily, told him I needed to double check a few payments). Good job I did as I found out our credit card repayment is four times what I had budgeted for. He's off having what he's dubbed a "stress poo" (men are disgusting creatures) so I think it's finally sunk in how in the poop we are. My Mum's sending me £50 so we can eat this month, but we did a big, stock up shop yesterday so we should be good for a few weeks if we can keep off the convenience food.
His mum's coming up next week, so we have to have the place spotless and we'll end up eating out every night as she has some OCD type stuff and can't eat from someone else's kitchen. Not exactly looking forward to that, my own food issues are probably going to mean sitting in restaurants with a glass of tap water where a meal should be. It's going to be a rough month, but I'm semi-prepared for it. I'll just be glad when it's over."Don't even think about leaving the country."

I just wanted to be supportive. I've been 19 and in too much pain to move. You have to do it. Otherwise your world gets smaller and smaller.
I also wanted to stress that you don't have to feel you need to go straight back to work. You can build yourself back up.
Speak to stepchange. Maybe the opinion of a professional will help him see the reality of the situation.

Talking to StepChange is a possibility. It's hard as all the debt's in my fiance's name, but obviously effects us both. Without going into too much detail, my past's started coming into play and I'm absolutely terrified of talking to him about it because I'm scared of what he'll do/say. I know it's completely ridiculous logically because he has never and would never do anything to hurt me, but that part of my brain doesn't seem to listen to logic.
Anyway. Three items listed on ebay today, scheduled to end Sunday at half five so with a bit of luck that's a fiver by the end of next week. That's £5 less debt we'll be getting into at the end of the month."Don't even think about leaving the country."

Well, OH is down to about four cigarettes a day and he's puffing away on his e-cig like there's no tomorrow - he's closer to quitting than he's been in 12 months and I'm so proud of him. A good Samaritan came up to us in the car park of Pets at Home and told us that you can buy wood shavings in bulk from a saw mill down the road for a tenth of the price of the ones we've been getting from there. I've all but stopped drinking (one tiny vodka and coke in the last few weeks) and he's cut down completely. My mum and dad treated us to a takeaway so we've had our junk food fix for a few months. We've re jigged a couple of things and realised our minimum payment on our credit card is about £50 lower than we thought. OH's overtime comes on Wednesday which we're going to use to cash flow his mum's visit this weekend. I've lost a tiny tiny bit of weight which is a huge huge deal when your health leaves you pretty much bed bound most days. AAAAAAND we were in a random ASDA yesterday and found Gluten Free Quorn Sausages reduced to 90p *crying*. We shouldn't go any further into debt next month for the first time in too long (at least that's the goal, and for once it's actually achievable.
And my shy grumpy little guinea pig let me pet his nose this morning while he was eating his pellets. What an awesome weekend.

So, a few things have changed.
This may be tmi, but I had a pregnancy scare. It's not the first and it won't be the last, but it shook me like I've never been shaken before. I need to get out of this situation, call it nesting or whatever but it's primal. I cannot be in this situation again, terrified for a potential baby because I can barely look after myself. I've gone vegan and completely gluten free and I've already lost half a stone. I'm researching physio and pestering the doctors for referrals and new treatments. I'm gathering everything we can to sell and reading up on minimalism. I'm finding new ways of simplifying life and new ways to avoid spending. I'm ready to leave this portion of my life behind and move on to something new.
OH may be headed for a new job soon, a big promotion. I'm crossing my fingers as I'm absolutely useless physically now, I can't walk more than a few steps without support and the pain is terrible. We're in a lot more debt. We're only going into more debt to be able to afford minimum payments. We can't keep going much longer. I think it's time to talk to OH about a DMP."Don't even think about leaving the country."
