New Barclay's Credit Card

This is the first time I've had a credit card so this may be a silly question - applied yesterday and got accepted said my limit would be 1500£ but checked on-line today it's only 400? Will it go up when I activate my card or start repaying??

Mine also started at £400 the next increment up was £1200. They look at how you use your card and your repayments and increase your credit limit gradually if you have had no credit or bad credit.

Just be responsible and then you will see increases.

As it is your first credit card I assume you have little or no credit history?

Any credit card company is going to be reluctant to give you a large credit limit until they have some evidence that you are a good credit risk. Usually after three months, as long as you haven't exceeded your credit limit and have always made at least the minimum payment they will increase your limit, or you can request a higher credit limit,

i got rid of NW CC yrs ago and just used Visa Debit but forgot all about Credit Scoring. So now i have no credit history. i applied for Barclays thinking my bank wouldnt give me one as they are attached to HSBC. Lo & behold i now have 2! The Barclays is a high APR.
should i keep both OR should i just return or destroy the Barclay's card?

    thanks
