Email taking ages to arrive

Options
Hello all

I wondered if anyone could help me with my email. I have a onetel address from before they were taken over by talktalk, and talktalk provide our broadband. I want to keep the onetel address because I have used it in so many places, and also it is easy to remember! I have set it to automatically send the emails to outlook express, but I have noticed recently that the emails are taking a day or two or more to get to us - I click on send and receive and it says I have no emails but I know there are some. I sent one to myself five hours ago and it hasn't arrived in outlook express yet.

So I wondered why this is and what I can do about it? I don't know if I contact onetel or talktalk about this, and talktalks customer support is dire!
Any help gratefully received.
Thank you
Ali

Have you checked your POP3/SMTP settings as per the TalkTalk support pages?

Email isn't an instant messaging system.

Email can travel through numerous mail relays before finally arriving at the destination server from where you collect it. Thus any number of locations can delay delivery.

I too have a Onetel address and found that emails have been taking two or three days to arrive since the middle of last week. I don't know why this is, but as the address is now only used for unimportant stuff I haven't bothered to enquire.
