Got a fridge freeze from currys pc world on line last Friday . Plugged it in on Sunday . Worked for a day. Now it won't work . Phoned currys for a replacement . They said an engineer needs to come out . I said No way . I said what about my consumer rights. They said an engineer is the the only option . Now I'm taking tomoro off work waiting for the engineer .
Sick of ringing them . Fobbed off. Spoke to Byron , Jane , Joe . Can't get anywhere . Any advice what to do please ?????

So far, your consumer rights haven't been breached.
They are within their rights to send a engineer out to verify the fault with the fridge before exchanging or refunding the unit.0 -

Do you think 'acceptance' has occurred?0 -
The OP has a 30-day right to reject and I think they should in this case0

Only if the goods do not conform to contract. The OP has a 30-day right to reject and I think they should in this case
If the only reason for the fridge-freezer not working is, for example, that the consumer has not setup the thing correctly, then the buyer does not have that statutory right.
It is perfectly reasonable for the seller, or their agent, to inspect the goods before accepting a return.0 -
You will have to wait for the engineer to confirm the fault.
I personally would then ask for a refund and then buy it again, this will give you a full years guarantee again. I tend to buy products like this from John Lewis when possible because they give a 2 year guarantee.0 -
